My name is Liu Gong, the Former Young Emperor and Crown Prince of the Han Dynasty.
I am the grandson of Liu Bang, Emperor Gaozu of Han, the founding emperor of the Western Han; the son of Crown Prince Liu Ying; and the child of a palace maid. Zhang Yan is my mother in name, while Empress Dowager Lü Zhi is my grandmother. Xiang Yu was my grandfather’s rival, and the three outstanding founders of the early Han, Zhang Liang, Xiao He, and Han Xin, were my grandfather’s most capable aides.
I will create a prosperous and powerful Han, with bountiful harvests, victories at Langjuxu, unmatched splendor, and peace throughout the land.
