This Apocalypse Is Too Insane for Me to Handle

[Apocalypse + Superpowers + System + Feel-Good Story + No Saintly Mercy + Ruthless Protagonist + This Novel Is Entirely Fictional]

[Also known as: Apocalypse: I Really Don’t Have Any Superpowers]

“Do you believe in the light?”

“Do you mean the light from the Great Cataclysm?”

In 2333, a flash of light tore across Blue Star’s sky screen. Countless black-smoke-spewing meteorites rained down, and from that moment on, a world that had already been absurd became even more absurd.

Disaster, famine, unrest, and war swept across the globe. Monsters ran rampant, zombies roamed everywhere, and everything descended into chaos.

It wasn’t until the first survivor awakened a superpower that humanity began to rise and fight to reclaim and divide up the world.

In 2338, inside an abandoned building, Lu Tianming lit a bloodstained cigarette and propped it between two blocks of compressed rations.

“Happy birthday to me…”

Blood welled up in his mouth. He knew his time was up. This was his last birthday, but he wasn’t ready to give up.

“Everyone else has superpowers. Why don’t I?”

System: [Sorry, Master. I’m late!]

“Five years have passed, and I’m about to die. You think saying you’re late makes everything okay? Do you know what I’ve been through all these years?”

[I know. Being born a system, I’m truly sorry!]
