Huaihuai Xi's Fateful Encounter

[Not mutually exclusive in the beginning; devoted love later on + fictional setting]

Her father is a prime minister, and her older brother is a general, so she grows up surrounded by affection. As a child, she often sneaks into the palace to play with Brother Yi Huai. Everyone assumes she will become Yi Huai’s princess consort. But a devastating upheaval turns Brother Yi Huai into a thorn in the Crown Prince’s side, and her family sends her to her maternal grandparents’ home in Jiangnan to keep her safe. Later, the former emperor abdicates, and Brother Yi Huai claims the throne through his own strength. Under their protection, she returns to the capital and enters the unfathomable imperial harem.

Love is the way Yi Huai taught his little fox to plan every step; it is also Nan Xi understanding that he had no choice. Together, they travel farther and farther along the road to saving each other.
