The Palace Halls

I've admired Shen Zhiyi since I was a child, and all I ever wanted was to become his Crown Princess.

In time, my wish came true and I married him. Little did I know that this was only the beginning of a nightmare.

After he ascended the throne, he turned cold and merciless. He not only ordered my father stripped of his title, but also caused my elder brother to die a horrible death on the battlefield.

On the day he ordered my death, he told me he had never loved me. He had only ever been using me.

Then I returned to the day I knelt on the long flight of steps, pleading desperately with him.

I would no longer be Li Ruotang, meekly accepting my fate. I would never again let any of them walk all over me.

But what I never expected was that I would end up entangled with Shen Zhiyi's younger brother.
