[No fantastical wish fulfillment or exaggeration: a genuinely exhausting life, with a little sweetness sprinkled into the everyday]
Xu Yingzi is a thirty-three-year-old lawyer with mediocre results and a life in disarray. Then an intern drops out of the sky, one who needs no living allowance and no social security contributions. A free assistant? Who would turn that down? Xu Yingzi isn't foolish, so she keeps her.
What follows is a story with its share of familiar tropes and sweetness, everyday moments and unexpected turns.
A lawyer's life may not be exciting, but this is certainly an authentic portrayal.
Even if you don't care for the story, think of it as a public service announcement about the law. You'll learn some legal knowledge, so it's not a bad deal.
There are only a few people who stand at the top of the tower from all walks of life. Most of them live a miserable life as ordinary people.
