By the Vast Sea

The Cang family was slaughtered in Qixia, leaving only Cang Yun, the sole survivor of what had once been a renowned family of physicians.

Bearing the hatred of her family's annihilation, she lay low in the imperial palace for three years. With her mastery of medicine and poison, she planted an incurable love curse on the powerful Imperial Preceptor, poisoned the emperor until he became a living corpse, and toppled the Dongyan court. From then on, she was a fugitive, with nowhere to call home.

On a snowy night, with nowhere left to turn, she collapsed in front of a blue-curtained carriage. The man who saved her was Yuchi Linyuan, a gentle and refined young noble from the Northern Border who had been held hostage in Dongyan for ten years.

He seemed carefree, but his plans ran deep as an abyss. Making himself a piece on the board and turning nations into a game, he had spent ten years laying plans in the heart of his enemy's realm, waiting for the day he could return home and secure lasting peace for the Northern Border.

She was a blade, determined to make Dongyan pay with its life;

He was its sheath, willing to temper her sharpness.

From wary probing to entrusting each other with their lives, from blood feuds to concern for all the people.

She broke free from the cocoon of her family vendetta and used her medical skills to save the world;

He abandoned his schemes for power and protected his homeland with a compassionate heart.

The court was rife with intrigue, the martial world vast and open, love and hatred intertwined, and righteousness weighed a thousand pounds.

When the hostage returned north, when the orphan laid down her blade, when the ten-year game finally reached its end,

blade and sheath came together, with wind and snow as their witness and the realm as their betrothal gift, as they set out together to bring peace to all under heaven.

Above the Cang Abyss, love and hate were both transcended, and they faced life and death as one.
