Foreign Singers Are Dominating? Chinese-Language Music Is Still the Best

[Entertainment Industry + Singing + Writing + Film and TV + Everyday Urban Life + No Female Lead]

Xia Feng, a singer who started from nothing, wins over audiences on a singing competition show, only to be eliminated in disgrace when he can't overcome the financial power backing the show.

An investor: “My daughter has to make the top four!”

The production team discusses it: “The foreign contestants are too strong. Even if Xia Feng is excellent, he can't win. We might as well give her a spot.”

“Exactly. With Sister Na competing, a top-three finish is enough. What does Xia Feng amount to? It's not like he can win, right?”

After drinking himself to death in his grief, he wakes up in a parallel world much like Earth in his previous life.

To his surprise, this world has none of the peerless hit songs by top singer-songwriters like Jay Chou, JJ Lin, or David Tao!

Xia Feng's eyes light up.

“This time, I'm taking it all!”

Now he stands on the stage of Summer's King of Singers.

An impromptu performance of “Maple” leaves even the judges who had been ready to bow to the investors in tears.

“To hell with the investors! I'm turning on my lights!”

“Turn them on!”

“Turn them on!”

The audience's hearts have already melted to his singing.

“Talent has beaten money at last!”

Then, one timeless classic after another, he crushes the foreign singers with ease.

After the performance, reporters rush over from outside, wiping away their tears.

“Mr. Xia Feng, is there anything you'd like to say to the audience?”

Xia Feng says solemnly, “Don't let the foreign tide get more and more arrogant. Chinese-language music is the best!”
