Princess Rongzhao Comes to Wed, and the Grassland Chieftain Falls for Me

[Palace intrigue + political schemes] [Sweet at first, then mildly angsty] [Bad ending]

To bring an end to the war, Jiang Yuanxi resolutely abandoned her lover in the Central Plains and set out to marry for peace.

Faced with the harem women's schemes, rivalries, and secret battles, she proceeded cautiously, planning every move and laying a trap. She joined forces with the former ruler, who suddenly reappeared after vanishing for thirteen years, to stage a coup and put him back on the throne.

After every one of them had died, she painstakingly helped the prince who loved her deeply unite the steppe and become its overlord, while she herself became the most revered woman in all the grasslands.

She thought their loving marriage would last until the end of their days, never imagining that once her husband had power and status, the first thing he would do was take a secondary consort and concubines.

One misunderstanding after another eroded their love, and in the end, she died of sorrow...

Naqin: "We became husband and wife with our hair bound together. Our love should never be in doubt. You will always be my wife..."

Consort Yi: "A man's love is the least trustworthy thing in the world. You... must always remember that."

Jiang Yuanxi: "I thought you were kind and gentle, but I never imagined you could be so cruel..."
