The Secret of the Beauty in the Painting

My husband fell in love with the woman in a painting. Every night, he entered her dreams and met with her there.

He spent all our money buying jewelry for her and took my clothes to give to her.

He even listened to her and suspected me of having an affair, trying to hack me to death while I slept.

Later, I pretended to be asleep one night and discovered that my husband had indeed entered the painting again to sleep with the beauty.

I quickly rolled up the painting on the wall, tossed it straight into the brazier, and burned it to ashes.
