Five Blessings Arrive

People can enjoy five blessings, but those who possess all five are rare. My dad was one of them.

But can blessings won by abusing his wife and daughter really be called blessings?

Dad said he had longevity, wealth, health, virtue, and a peaceful death. He had all five, so how could that not be a blessing?

When he was happy, he would lay out a banquet from one end of the village to the other.

I licked my lips eagerly, too.

A person with all five blessings would make a nourishing meal!
