Ye Luoli: Master of Plants

The wind begins at the tip of a duckweed leaf, and waves take shape in the faintest ripples. In the Ye Luoli fairyland, the spotlight usually shines on the Ye Luoli Warriors, who bear a great mission. But in corners passed over by the camera and never brought into focus, a group of overlooked background characters lift their heads and look beyond the frame. They are both bystanders and game changers. Qing Wu uses plants as her medium, bringing together the strength of those on the margins. She stitches the broken earth back together with roots and reconnects severed ties with vines. In places no one notices, they prove through their actions that the fate of the fairyland is also shaped by every undaunted glimmer of light.
