Irresistibly Alluring

[Pure historical romance + both romantically inexperienced + regretful pursuit + not a strong heroine + sweet and angsty happy ending]

Wei Heyyi is desperate for money, and the madam of a brothel tricks her into serving a fearsome, cold-blooded general.

General Zhaolian thinks she's just some brothel girl. He'll get his poison cured, then throw her away. Later, he decides she's so obedient and beautiful that he might as well keep her as a concubine or a bedchamber attendant.

Only later does he learn that she's a respectable young woman who had no choice but to give herself to him.

He uses every means at his disposal to keep her imprisoned by his side. “Wei Heyi, if you behave, I'll make you my principal wife.”

But she refuses. She tries everything she can to escape, avoiding him as if he were a venomous snake.

She even plans to marry her childhood sweetheart.

On her wedding day, Zhaolian, covered in blood, bursts in and falls to his knees at the hem of her dress, begging her with utter humility.

“Heyi, look at me one more time...”
