This is a world where humans and dragons live together. Tens of millions of years ago, the dragons fought a grand battle with the alien creatures VIRM. After the battle, the dragons moved underground to survive in order to resist the invasion of alien creatures again. The dragons without combat ability turned into magma energy, and the male and female combinations with fighting ability turned into dragons. Tens of millions of years later, humans drove giant robots named "FRANXX" to fight against dragons. Two of the characters, Guang and 02, established a deep emotional bond with each other during the battle and grew together.
