Shen Zheyao was the fourth son of the Shen family, so they named him Zheyao, meaning “to die young,” with the idea that an early death would lead to an early rebirth.
Growing up, Shen Zheyao and his frail, sickly mother struggled to make ends meet.
Unexpectedly, during an evening study session in his senior year of high school, the sight of him helping his mother haul garbage caught the attention of the wealthy and powerful Gu Xijin.
Gu Xijin was a lunatic. The first time they met, he declared that Shen Zheyao belonged to him, but Shen Zheyao refused to give in, even if it meant dying.
The second time they met, Gu Xijin threatened to cut off his classmate’s hand. Shen Zheyao wasn’t particularly close to the classmate, but he took pity on him and won Gu Xijin’s mercy with a kiss.
The third time they met…
After many encounters, Shen Zheyao finally uncovered the secret behind Gu Xijin’s appearance.
It turned out Gu Xijin was mentally ill, and so was his entire family.
The writing is good and the content is exciting, but some of the twists and turns are a bit stiff.
