Please Marry Me, Miss Mouri

[*Breaks up the canon couples; everyday romance; no character bashing]

[*Short story, male lead's perspective, third person. A tale of Chidori Makoto, a clueless, straightforward puppy chasing love. Chidori Makoto believes the world revolves around Ran Mouri; he loves everything about her and is her devoted fan. Straightforward affection conquers the naturally oblivious! He shares the fun of gossiping about Detective Conan's drama with the person he loves.]

I'm Chidori Makoto, a second-year student at Teitan Middle School and captain of the kendo club. I have a secret everyone knows: I like Miss Mouri. No, I like Miss Mouri very, very, very, a million times over, super-duper much!

Miss Mouri... Miss Mouri...

Beika Town is so dangerous, so treacherous. I want to protect you, to stay by your side forever. I hope I can hold you in my arms, cherish you with all my heart, and keep you safe.

“So... is this why you put everything Ran has used, along with all the gifts she gave you, in a safe?”

“You even gave them names and serial numbers!” Sonoko looked at Chidori Makoto as if he were a pervert, then turned to Ran. “Ran, are you really just going to watch without saying anything?”

She joked, “You’re not saying you approve, are you?!”

At that moment, Ran Mouri happened to meet Chidori Makoto's eyes. She: “...”

Chidori Makoto gazed at her in silence. A strange blush slowly spread across his face, and he looked at Ran Mouri with puppy-dog eyes, stammering, “Ran...”

Sonoko Suzuki: “???”
