Only When We Part Do I Remember You

Time sweeps past like a sudden gale, hurrying on and leaving behind only faint traces. We drift through ordinary days in a daze, without distinguishing day from night. We pass through a time we cannot bear to leave behind and feel the flowers bloom and fade. We pass through the beginning of a life spent caring for each other, leaving behind quiet and longing, while taking away my revelry and passion. I've grown used to life's trifles, to the desolation left in the wind's wake. I love the turning seasons, with begonias carpeting the road and pear blossoms drifting like snow. Yet I can't help but sigh at how scattered memories have become...

Twenty years ago, I always thought love would leave no regrets. Even when we parted, we would smile and softly say, "I'm sorry!"

Twenty years later, I find myself hoping the flower of life will bloom once more. Even a sudden flutter of the heart in a dream would be enough!
