“Mutual scheming | Angsty romance | An unconventional redemption | Both leads are adults | A touch of high society | Includes a side couple”
“Stubborn to the core (him) × Desperate outlaw (her)”
Main mission: make money. Side mission: win over Xu Yan.
Xu Yan is a spoiled rich kid, reckless and shameless. The moment he first saw Ye Zhuxia, he was attracted to her looks. He bet he could win her over in a month.
He did win her over, but who was really reeling in whom is another matter.
After a brief spell of happiness, they parted on amicable terms. There were no real feelings, just one scheme after another.
The new semester began, and the two, who had thought they would never cross paths again, met once more. He saw her name at the top of the monthly exam rankings, a full 728 points ahead of everyone else. She had disappeared for a month, only to return as the one everyone else had to measure up to. Across the crowd, their eyes met. People streamed past him, but all he could do was gaze at her, wanting to take her hand, hold her, kiss her.
They both felt the world's bitterness and sorrow as keenly as anyone could. The only love they had came from each other: a warped, obsessive love, born of defiance.
Theme: True love is never defined.
(All names of people, places, and universities in this story are fictional. Any resemblance is purely coincidental. May they live happily in another world.)
P.S. The characters aren't perfect, so please stop reading if that bothers you. This is a romance with characters who aren't exactly refined. Things move pretty fast, and it's not really a campus romance, though there are a few campus scenes. I don't know why Tomato gave it a campus tag. It's ridiculous.
Some things I would like to say about this book: "The character of the heroine can be summarized in two words, "breaking jars and falls" and "tenacity". The character of the male protagonist can be summarized in two words, "crazy" and "paranoid". In some behaviors, people may think that they are a bit "scumbag". There is a formal ex-girlfriend, whom I have held and hugged, and nothing else. I will not explain too much about this point. If you mind, please leave. All the behaviors and ways of doing things of the male and female protagonists are caused by their growth environment and native family. They are not born evil, nor are they that kind. They will not be forgiven by the brilliance of the Holy Mother, only inaction and revenge, so the Holy Mother can go. I don't think this book can be considered a campus novel. The first half of the book is set in a school, which is caused by many "evils". If everything goes well, the heroine should be in college, and the hero too, and the two will never meet. Too much evil makes the two people entangled. The more entangled they become, the more painful they are, and they cannot get rid of it. The more entangled they are, the clearer some things will become. Whether they hate it or love it, it is inevitable. I think their meeting is inevitable, fate, and sooner or later. Maybe you can't understand it now, but after reading it, you should understand why I say this. Characters have flaws, really, they are not perfect, but I am writing each person's character, including family and story, very seriously. I have written nearly 80,000 words just for the small details of the characters. I don't even know if this book can be written to 80,000 words. There are so many emotions that I cannot describe in words. I feel that my vocabulary is too short, and I cannot express the feeling of pulling, pain, powerlessness, wanting to give up and being entangled. I won't say too much. I can accept it, but don't criticize the protagonist. I can't accept it. It's best not to take it personally. Just watch. I love you. ❤️
