“China has nothing if not people... lots of them. Feel free to use these test subjects.”

To awaken their god, the enemy uses the people of China on a massive scale for all kinds of arcane experiments, using the arcane to awaken the god’s body.

“Filthy arcane creature... get out of my divine body! I am the noble Sea God, Poseidon!”

When the arcane parasitizes the body of a god, the god falls and becomes an emissary that devours the world.

“Humans? What do I care whether humanity survives? Let them die if they’re going to die, and live if they’re going to live. I’m only after the answers I need.

Sequence monsters are nothing more than dispensable test subjects. Why should I care?”
