The Lights of Countless Homes Beyond My Desk

With the civil service exam craze sweeping the country, university graduates and people from all walks of life are joining in. Many are drawn by the promise of a so-called iron rice bowl and a respectable job. They believe that entering the system will benefit not only their descendants, but also make their relatives and friends proud of them. But they do not realize that the moment you sit down at your desk to prepare for the civil service exam, you are no longer just an individual. The words "civil servant" may seem simple, but they represent a responsibility. Behind that desk lies more than an official document that will give you the thrill of passing the exam, and more than the dignity of holding your head high in front of your friends. It is the people's hopes and the bridge that connects people in society, because behind that desk are the lights in a thousand homes.
