[Cthulhu Mythos] [Mind-Bending] [Ghosts and Monsters] [Beast Taming] After accidentally transmigrating into a world of mysterious games, players who lose their sanity and reach an excessively high terror index will have their bodies burst apart, while their souls are banished to the far reaches of the boundless universe, trapped in an endless cycle of horror.
Liang Jue has only just transmigrated when he finds himself in a mysterious instance rated two and a half stars. To make matters worse, as soon as he wakes up, the notorious Clown has his eye on him.
"What a disaster!"
Well, trouble's come knocking. Guess I'll have to take on the Clown whether I want to or not.
At the brink of life and death, Liang Jue outsmarts his way through and makes a comeback, only to stumble into the instance's hidden level...
The Starwalker Palace!
Worried about his life, Liang Jue finds that all that remains in the hall is the eternal corpse of a Starwalker, reduced to dust!
In the center of the decaying palace...
Before the faceless, twisted corpse of the Starwalker, three brilliantly colored crystals hover, though on closer inspection, they are colorless. Liang Jue is immediately torn over which inheritance to choose.
The first crystal on the left contains the Undying Devotee inheritance.
It grants immortality, but throws its inheritor into temporal disarray, stripping them of all sense of time.
"So, a living corpse. You'd be better off dead."
The second crystal contains the Corruptor inheritance.
It can make any being decay faster. To be honest, it's incredibly powerful.
If you don't mind your own body rotting along with everything else, it's actually a pretty good choice.
The third is the Eternal Dark Walker.
It lets you merge with the darkness and become darkness itself.
"This one's relatively normal. At least you can still look like a person."
Just as Liang Jue makes his decision, a shriveled, mummy-like fleshy growth on the Starwalker's body suddenly twitches twice...
"What is that?"
