Jerusalem: A Chronicle of Feuds

From the Canaanites founding Jerusalem as a city and kingdom, to the Jews doing the same; from the Babylonian Captivity to the contest between the First Persian Empire and Alexander; from the struggle between Parthia and Rome to the rivalry among the Ptolemies, Antigonids, and Seleucids; from the wars between Sassanian Persia and Rome to the clashes between the Arab Empire and Byzantium; from the Crusades to the Ottoman Empire, and all the way to the modern State of Israel, Jerusalem has been the focal point of the three Abrahamic religions. The succession of kingdoms and rulers has borne witness to history, one era after another. This small city has stirred human history, been filled with stories of love and hatred, left a mark spanning millennia, and linked the past to the future.
