When humanity becomes a bargaining chip for the gods
"Every time you use your supernatural power, you borrow from the abyss, and the interest is your flesh and soul."
The End Times Corridor tore open the sky, and the corruption of the End Times civilization swept across Earth like a poisonous miasma. The civilization humanity took pride in crumbled beneath the mockery of godlike beings. Only the "Descendants of Gosa," awakened to supernatural powers, remained as humanity's last spark. But the price of power was cruel: sacrificing one's humanity [Humanity as Currency].
Ruan Mingfeng was a pawn betrayed by time. When his future self, the cold-blooded tyrant "Ruan Mingkong," went rogue, the organization dragged him from the past into the apocalypse, hoping to use "the cowardice of the past" to stamp out "the madness of the future." He wielded the power to "deny existence," but each use made him fade from the world: his ID crumbled to ash, his closest friends forgot his name, and in the end, he was so alone that the entire world forgot him. He would become the anchor for the arrival of the Eye of Chaos, and that was precisely the mastermind's ultimate scheme.
Ruan Mingkong was both humanity's savior and a paradox that had to be erased. He scoffed at tears and morality, betting humanity's survival on a one-in-a-thousand chance: "So what if eighteen people die? If their blood can bring humanity back to its senses, it's a bargain." He secretly maneuvered his comrades into making sacrifices, awakened the ancient gods, and tore apart the End Times Corridor. Yet on a stormy night, he curled up in the arms of sniper Lin Jingque, letting her count the parasitic tendrils newly split along his spine.
(Might have a bit of a Dragon Raja vibe)
The plot of the future apocalypse is pretty good. It's not just a cool novel that keeps me in the mood to read it. After all, there have been too many purely cool novels in recent years. I hope the author will change some details, otherwise the cerebellum will shrink 🤭
