When chaos first took shape, a hundred races lived side by side. Humanity was weak and feeble, prey for demons. Thus the Way was passed down in nine traditions: the Five Elements of Taiyi and the Four Laws of the Celestial Gods.
There are people in the world who cultivate the Way. They carry out Heaven’s will, sense the great qi of the Way between Heaven and Earth, and use it to cultivate. They are known as cultivators.
The great qi of the Way between Heaven and Earth falls into nine major categories: metal, wood, water, fire, earth, yin, yang, time, and space.
Together, they are known as the Five Elements of Taiyi and the Four Laws of the Celestial Gods.
Beyond these, the Five Elements and Four Laws have given rise to countless variant forms of the great qi of the Way, making the path of cultivation brilliantly diverse.
