I’m sure many people feel the same way I do when reading Journey to the West, whether it’s the TV series or the original novel. There are so many things that leave us dissatisfied.
When Sun Wukong wreaks Havoc in Heaven, a hundred thousand Heavenly Soldiers and Generals can’t defeat him. But later, during the Journey to the West, he grows weaker and weaker, constantly having to call for help.
After capturing Tang Sanzang, every demon drags its feet instead of eating him. It’s truly baffling.
And Tang Sanzang is weak and incompetent. What qualifies him to be Sun Wukong and the others’ master? So often he’s too frightened to move, lost and confused, and Sun Wukong has to keep talking him through it and cheering him up.
All of Sun Wukong’s abilities came from Daoism. The elixirs, the Peaches of Immortality, the Ginseng Fruit, the jade wine from the Jade Pool banquet, and even the Golden Cudgel all came from the East. Yet in the end, he sides with the West and works himself to the bone for Spirit Mountain.
In the glorious age of the Tang dynasty, why travel thousands of miles to the West to seek scriptures? Vegetarianism and praying to Buddha can’t save all living beings. Demons and monsters will always exist. What we need are heroes who punish evil, uphold justice, and grow braver with every battle.
Spirit Mountain never taught Sun Wukong a single skill. Instead, it taught Tang Sanzang a spell to control him with a tightening headband. A system stifles someone’s natural freedom, then expects us to sing its praises and spread its teachings. It’s simply absurd!
The White Dragon Horse barely gets any scenes, Sha Wujing hardly has any lines, and Zhu Bajie is lazy and greedy. Basically, Monkey does all the work on the Journey to the West, yet Tang Sanzang gets the most credit.
This story is basically Journey to the West told in reverse. To seek immortality, Sun Wukong travels west, covering 108,000 li and subduing countless demons and monsters, until he finally becomes an immortal. After arriving in Heaven, he grows dissatisfied with its order and eventually wreaks Havoc in Heaven.
It's a great book. I read the latest chapter in one go. I can't get enough! The author's writing is good, and the plot is based on Journey to the West but is not a traditional Journey to the West story, which is very good.
It respects the original work very much and has its own innovations. The characters are vivid and vivid. It can be seen that the author must be well-read and has a profound cultural background. It is very beautiful.
With brilliant literary talent, smooth writing style, and humor, this is a rare book! Come on, author!
It looks good, the author quickly coded it. [Pouts]
