There Are No Gods on Spirit Mountain

On the Qixi Festival, everyone in town was slaughtered in the streets overnight.

My parents shielded me with their bodies, and I was the only one who survived.

Above us, the culprit behind the massacre gripped a beautiful woman's chin and parted his thin lips. "Still running?"

Before me, my mother's face was smeared with blood. With the last of her strength, she mouthed the words to me.

"Run... Hurry..."

Later, I climbed the sacred mountain and slaughtered every god.

The immortal who treated human lives like weeds knelt trembling at my feet.

"Please, let her go."

I cut off her head with one stroke of my sword. "Go? Someone consumed by selfish love is unworthy of being a god."
