Dr. Xia, I Think You Like Me

[Sweet romance with an older man, one-on-one and devoted to each other, warm-hearted man saves sensitive heroine, healing story]

Jiang Zaozao was a child her grandmother found in a garbage dump.

The first time she sees him, he’s bathed in the spotlight, like a god.

She watches from afar, then gathers up her leftover food and slips away, feeling inferior.

The second time she sees him, he calls out to her: “Hey! You, kid! Why are you running away when you see me?”

He grabs her by the collar and takes her to his office. Terrified, she cries out, “I-I’m not that kind of woman!”

He laughs in exasperation. “Relax, I’m not interested in you!”

The next time they meet, he rushes over, pulls her into his car, and kisses her hard until she’s weak all over. Then he takes her home.

She sobs, “But you said you weren’t interested in me!”

He smiles, satisfied. “Right, I’m not. My little brother is.”

Jiang Zaozao can’t believe he’d say something so dirty. She clutches the blanket, mortified.

But he carries her away, blanket and all.

She cries, “Ahhh! What are you doing?”

He says, “We’re going to get our marriage license!”

He’s a serious man, after all. He believes in making things official.
