A little girl born in an ordinary mountain village suffers rejection again and again from childhood. Her mother and stepfather torment her psychologically for years. After enduring blow after blow, she develops depression and gradually descends into darkness, wanting to end her life. Fortunately, someone saves her, and she meets a boy who has also been bullied at school. The two of them, both battered by hardship and hurt, support each other and board a green train bound for a place far away from trouble. In that crowded train, they long to break free from their restraints, carrying with them a yearning for independence and freedom.
After being conned, facing setbacks, and failing in an unfamiliar city, they slowly rebuild themselves and find the strength to stand on their own. Then she meets another boy, her first love, who shows her the beauty of love despite all her defenses. Though her sensitivity hurts him along the way, he still gives her tremendous strength in life.
The storms never stop along her journey, but she learns how to keep moving forward, one determined step at a time. Though the person she loves most eventually leaves her, love gives her the ability to cherish the world. She once thought the world had abandoned her, but after she is reborn, she realizes it has always loved her. Perhaps the ones who love her aren't her family or her partner. Perhaps she herself is the world!
