Synopsis: The villagers say that when I was born, it was the dead of winter. Yet overnight, willow trees sprouted green buds, the snow and ice melted, and every flower bloomed.
Even the pigs and cattle the villagers raised knelt on their front legs, all facing my home, as if worshipping something.
My mother was overjoyed, convinced I was destined to bring good fortune.
Who knew it would take her three whole days and nights to bring me into the world?
The moment I was born, all the willow trees withered, the flowers faded, and snow and ice covered everything again.
It was as if none of it had ever happened.
My mother started calling me a jinx.
She even gave me to some so-called immortal in the hope of having a son, and signed a marriage contract for me.
I didn’t take it seriously, but on my twentieth birthday,
a red cord arrived from my best friend,
and not only did a willow-tree tattoo appear on my body,
a handsome man came to my bed that night, claiming to be my husband...
And the best friend who gave me the red cord had been dead for ages!
