Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace Reborn: The Beauty Returns

Under revision. Don't read the following part yet.

“Graceful as the moon, lovely as spring.” The line comes from the Ode to Beauties of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, and it is the source of my name. Just as the poem describes, I am beautiful and slender. After entering the palace, whether I was at the Four Treasuries, in the flower house, or at Qixiang Palace, I never stopped hoping that Ling Yunche, my childhood sweetheart, would rescue me from this misery. But all he ever did was tell me to wait.

Wait? How long could I wait? Three years of hardship did nothing to extinguish my ambition. Instead, it only made it grow! I had to take a chance on myself! With Jinzong's help, I became one of the Emperor's consorts. From palace maid to Consort, then to Imperial Noble Consort, I gave the best years of my life to the treacherous Forbidden City. But I went too far, and in the end everyone turned against me. A bowl of poisoned wine brought my life to a close.

Given another life, I will cast aside Ling Yunche's laughable sincerity and take Jinzong's hand as I climb, step by step, to the top. I will hold absolute power and bask in boundless glory!
