He Jingyan, the president of He Group, is in a financial crisis and unexpectedly reunites with his old acquaintance Zhou Ali.
Zhou Ali helped each other by injecting money, and the two gradually interacted with each other, but they became estranged because of a drunken bed-sharing incident and news of a marriage in the ward (Xu Man mentioned her engagement with He Jingyan). Zhou Ali hides his love for fear of destroying He Jingyan's "happiness"; He Jingyan is trapped in responsibilities (the guilt towards Xu Man and the promise of marriage), but he can't hide his care when getting along with Zhou Ali. From the tentative dinner party at the Royal Court Hotel, to the forceful questioning after being drunk, to Zhou Ali's frankness of "not recognizing each other for fear of destroying happiness", the two finally broke through the window paper and faced each other's sincerity hidden under the "responsibility" and "compromise". The existence of Xu Man and He's crisis made this belated confession a new starting point for the emotional entanglement between the two.
