Born as a Princess, I Take on Ancient China’s Infrastructure

[Food + Infrastructure Building + Princess + Overpowered Golden Finger + Everyone’s Darling + Business + Farming]

Chu Qingyou, a newly graduated master’s student in civil engineering, transmigrates to the undocumented Great Chu Kingdom and becomes its only princess. The emperor dotes on her, the empress loves her, and her eldest brother, the crown prince, puts her first in everything. She also has an adorable little brother who calls for his big sister all day long.

After living a peaceful life for over ten years, she decides that since she has come to this era, she should make a contribution to it. So she studies hard, grows potatoes and vegetables, and proposes new farming methods, ensuring that the people not only have enough to eat but can also build livelihoods of their own. She opens restaurants and snack-food districts to promote regional cuisine. She builds shopping malls, sets new trends in beauty, clothing, and small goods, and stimulates economic growth. She builds roads and bridges and improves drainage systems inside and outside the cities, using her professional expertise to improve people’s lives. She establishes schools and libraries so scholars everywhere can find books to read and the people can become better educated. She strengthens the border defenses, builds housing, and provides new types of provisions, improving conditions for the soldiers stationed at the frontier. Through her hard work and astonishing golden finger, she raises the country’s standard of living to a level that satisfies everyone and makes it possible for every person to support themselves.

Yet throughout it all, one person stays quietly by her side, charging into battle for her and thinking of her in everything. He clings to her, impossible to shake off or avoid. Before she knows it, she has lost her heart to him. But can he give her happiness?
