Xia Yunchu worked for a large textile company in Zhejiang. She had a serious disagreement with the company’s leadership over whether to develop pure cotton textiles or use synthetic fibers as raw materials, and was subjected to ridicule and obstruction from the group’s executives and her colleagues.
Her former university classmate, Gu Hanyi, reached out with an offer, inviting her to Xinjiang to develop a long-staple cotton production project together.
After careful inspection and research, Xia Yunchu concluded that Xinjiang’s long-staple cotton was among the finest in the world. Determined to build a brand around it and bring Xinjiang cotton to the international market, she and Gu Hanyi embarked on a new journey together.
