The Aloof Master and the Charming Fox

[Sweet romance!! Cold on the outside, warm and cunning Immortal Venerable x Nine-tailed fox with the nerve to steal but not the courage to follow through] Ji Yunbai is the youngest fox in Qingqiu. Blessed with the bloodline of a nine-tailed fox, she is the apple of her clan’s eye. She has money and beauty in spades, but she’s also a little menace. She’ll even kick a dog on the roadside, leaving her fox parents either paying compensation to various immortals or on their way to do so. The two old foxes are so worried that the fur on their tails is nearly worn away. They thought that was as bad as it could get. Then, on Ji Yunbai’s five-hundredth birthday, she sneaked up to the Ninth Heaven to steal some immortal fruit. As luck would have it, the fruit she ate had been grown in the courtyard of Immortal Venerable Qingheng. When her parents heard what had happened, they nearly fainted. They couldn’t afford to pay compensation. The Immortal Venerable had everything she could possibly want, so after much deliberation, they unanimously decided to “give” Shen Chuyi the troublesome little fox as an apology. * Shen Chuyi, revered as the greatest war god in the immortal realm, holds the title of Qingheng. Her status is exalted, putting her on equal footing with the Celestial Lord. She rarely gets involved in anything outside her duties and has no interest in anything at all. For millennia, she has lived alone, and everyone believes she will remain alone for the rest of her life. She believes it herself, too, until a fox barges into her quiet, uneventful life in the most unexpected way, bringing her heart, dormant for a thousand years, back to life. In the end, she schemes to take the fox as her disciple so she can keep her obediently under her watchful eye. * Ji Yunbai: Why did you take me as your disciple in the first place? Shen Chuyi: Is there anything wrong with wanting to grow old with my wife?
