Ten Miles of Clouds and Mist

Shen Yushu has spent so long living with her parents in her uncle’s Shaoshi residence that she has learned to watch every word and action. During the Lantern Festival, she follows the elders of her family to the lantern fair to pray for blessings and enjoy the festivities. By chance, however, she absorbs the vital energy gathered by the immortal Xuan Yi, and her body remains feverishly hot. After Xuan Yi saves her several times, the paths of two people whose lives should never have crossed begin to intertwine, all because of a misunderstanding tinged with horror.

Legend has it that on the Ghost Festival, the King of Hell opens the gates of the underworld, allowing ghosts with unfinished business to return to the mortal world and settle it. Some vengeful spirits seize the chance to slip out of hell while the gates stand wide open, bent on wreaking havoc among the living… One of them is a demon named Gui Qing. They say his whole body is ice-cold, his frame is as gaunt as a skeleton, and his face is the color of bronze and iron. Blood covers him from head to toe, his eyes bulge with fury, and he hunts down people who are alone, tearing them apart, draining their vital essence, and devouring their flesh…
