Looking for Supernatural Stories With a Growing Heroine: The Scarier, the Better

Female-oriented paranormal stories! Either first- or third-person narration is fine. I prefer protagonists who grow over time, and I'm not a fan of protagonists who are ridiculously overpowered right from the start. I don't mind whether there's a System or not. As long as the writing is good and the protagonist has a normal level of intelligence, that's fine, though the smarter the better. Thank you so, so much!!!
