Siheyuan: My Story with Five Women

[A wife, a lover: one leaves and another arrives. Everyone tramples him, yet every woman falls for him.]

When a crisis at the company sweeps him into a vortex, a fiery beauty takes the blows for him, an elegant older woman helps him assess the situation, a young girl clutches her candy and vows to protect him, a mature woman offers him a steady source of support, and his assistant quietly organizes the documents he’ll need to stay safe. He doesn’t blame fate, nor does he act rashly. He knows he isn’t yet capable of returning everyone’s affection, so he chooses to steady himself first. It’s not that he doesn’t want to fight back. He understands that until he has the full picture, he must hold on to his own rhythm and keep from being swept up in the chaos. Only then can he stand firm in the vortex and have the confidence to return every sincere feeling in the future. Taking care of himself first has never been selfish. He simply doesn’t want the people who love him to worry, and wants to take this unexpected affection as seriously as it deserves.
