(Just practicing, don’t read this) [Youth and campus + showbiz, second chance at love, reunion after years apart, healing each other]
Summer must eventually end. We never did.
Before she turned seventeen, Qi Yuan lived a happy, carefree life, as though every beautiful thing in the world had come her way.
After she turned seventeen, both her parents died, and she left her hometown alone.
During that time, she wrapped her heart in a hard shell, deliberately avoiding every memory connected to her past. She tried to escape reality by forgetting, as if her parents would still be by her side as long as she didn’t touch those memories.
And Shen Xi, too, was sealed away among them.
Years later.
“I’m sorry. Let’s forget what happened in the past and start new lives.” Qi Yuan spoke to the familiar stranger standing before her.
“Forget?”
He repeated Qi Yuan’s words under his breath, as if he’d heard something amusing. He gave a quiet laugh, but his eyes were full of sorrow.
“Qi Yuan, can you forget?”
The question pierced Qi Yuan’s heart like a sharp knife.
“I’ve already forgotten. You should forget, too.”
Shen Xi stared silently at her, deep sorrow showing in his eyes. “I understand.”
Then he spoke again, softly. “Ten years.”
“I can’t forget.” Shen Xi suddenly turned and walked away.
Qi Yuan suddenly remembered a question she had once asked Shen Xi.
“Do you think a broken mirror can really be made whole again?”
Shen Xi had answered quietly, “If you’re willing, it can.”
“Would you wait for someone for all those years, even if you didn’t know whether you’d ever see them again?”
Shen Xi fell silent.
For a long time.
A voice so faint it was almost inaudible drifted over.
It's really good. The male protagonist is very affectionate. He has been waiting alone for ten years.
