That’s too cruel! My heart’s breaking! Hua Xiyuan thought. Just then, a little green snake suddenly crawled out from the floor.
“Ahhh! A snake! There’s a snake!” Hua Xiyuan shot out from under the bed and ran to Ye Mohan, grabbing his arm. But that wasn’t enough, so she jumped onto a chair.
“Ye Mohan, look! There’s a snake!” Hua Xiyuan cried out in fear.
Ye Mohan stared at Hua Xiyuan, who had suddenly burst out, with a terrifying expression.
Then something suddenly felt wrong.
“Uh, um, I wasn’t eavesdropping on purpose. I just wanted to see what the top courtesan looked like.” Faced with this sudden awkward situation, Hua Xiyuan gave Ye Mohan a pitiful look as she explained.
Without a word, Ye Mohan hoisted Hua Xiyuan over his shoulder and carried her outside.
Wan’er bent down and held out her hand. The little green snake slithered up her arm. She straightened and looked toward Ye Mohan, carrying Hua Xiyuan away.
Her gaze was as cold and piercing as a layer of ice. It was well over twenty degrees outside, yet frost seemed to cloud her eyes.
“Ah, I was wrong! I really was! Don’t kill me to silence me!” Hua Xiyuan kicked her legs as Ye Mohan carried her over his shoulder.
He carried her into his room and, with a bang, tossed her onto the bed. As she loudly protested, he casually slipped a pill into her mouth.
Hua Xiyuan, still too stunned to react, started yelling:
“What did you make me swallow?”
