Why Does the Empress Keep Getting Cheated On?

Also known as Her Majesty Is Collecting Handsome Men Again [Comedy + fictional setting + not female-dominated society + love of country and family + personal growth + countless handsome men + one-on-one romance in the later chapters + devoted couples + male lead already chosen] Jiang Xiyue can't figure out why, as an empress, nobody genuinely loves her, and the handsome men keep cheating on her. Anyone who didn't know better would think she was playing matchmaker for them instead of being cheated on! So annoying! But even if she's mad, she kicks them to the curb as soon as they cheat. She never lets it eat away at her. After all, there are plenty more handsome men in the world, and she might as well fill her palace, since it's sitting empty anyway. So while she collects handsome men of every type, hoping for a sweet romance, she also learns to handle court affairs, working with her ministers while matching wits and trading blows with them! To get a better understanding of life among the people, she also takes one empress, three consorts, four husbands, and two outside lovers on a covert tour of the country... Along the way, they encounter bandits, report a tyrant at the academy, take on crooked merchants, carve roads through mountains, and open countless waterways! These adventures help the empress grow, but also draw her into an assassination plot involving an inside-outside conspiracy... Yet it is this very assassination attempt that gradually helps her understand that the love she has been longing for has long been quietly brewing, in a place no one knew, into a sweetness richer than fine wine... It is called a long-held secret love, hoping only for your glance in return.
