Journey to the West: You Say All Is Emptiness, Yet You Dare Not Look at Me

[A white-to-black, then black-to-white, unconventional holy monk

An absurdly tough, exceptionally flirtatious, yet pure-hearted Great Sage

Hardheaded to a fault, every last one of them.

In short: a hot-tempered pilgrimage. If you don't like it, fight!]

Legend has it that the Monkey King, Sun Wukong, possessed immense magic and extraordinary powers. Resenting Heaven's condescending disdain, he caused Havoc in Heaven, fighting a hundred thousand Heavenly Soldiers and daring to rival Heaven itself. But the Buddha of the West would not tolerate his defiance of Heaven's laws, and struck him down, trapping him beneath Five Elements Mountain. Five hundred years later, once his sentence was served, he converted to Buddhism and embarked on the Journey to the West, overcoming eighty-one trials and returning to his true nature, eventually becoming the Victorious Fighting Buddha.

Of course, theatrical tales and fanfiction are never quite the same. The story told here will completely go off the rails. In a word:

The flat peaches are ripe, so share them out and eat! The wide sleeves get in the way, so tear them off and toss them aside!
