The book "Hollywood's Power Culture" reveals the close ties between the Hollywood film industry and the U. S. Department of Defense, the CIA and big-name arms contractors. In the book, the author Alford analyzes and discusses more than 100 films of various types produced in recent years, showing us that some seemingly enlightened films, such as "The King of Gold" and "Hotel Rwanda", are often just like films in which the U. S. Military intervened in the production process (such as "Black Hawk Down", "Iron Man" and "Transformers"). They are just conventional and misleading films. In a system dominated by conservative tycoons, despite some personal progressive impulses, Hollywood has unswervingly supported the national security status quo and the use of purely American violence overseas.
