" The current comprehensive version of "Dream of Red Mansions" originated from the 120 chapters of "Dream of Red Mansions" published by Cheng Weiyuan, a bookseller in the Qing Dynasty through movable type typesetting and mass printing, including forty chapters continued by Gao E. Because Gao E and Cao Xueqin were far apart in life, literary accomplishment, ideological character, etc., Although the popular version of "A Dream of Red Mansions" was widely circulated, it greatly violated the original intention of Cao Xueqin's original writing. Therefore, in the book "The Story of the Stone Revised and Reviewed by Zhou Ruchang", Zhou Ruchang completely discarded Gao E's continuation and only included the eighty chapters of "The Story of the Stone Re-Evaluated by Zhi Yanzhai".
