Zhao Jiu Gets Drunk

[An unconventional palace intrigue comedy + hard-core survival rules + ensemble cast]

Cui Yunrou was living the good life as a wealthy woman when her father stabbed her in the back. For the sake of his career, he wanted to send her into the palace.

Absolutely not. She couldn’t bear to part with her vast fortune.

She pulled every trick she could during the selection, all to avoid entering the palace.

But unbeknownst to her, the emperor had already seen her before the selection. On the main street, the girl laughed with carefree abandon, and the kick she threw was unexpectedly dashing.

That one encounter stirred the palace, which had long been undisturbed.

With various factions fanning the flames, Cui Yunrou was forced behind the vermilion walls.

She thought she would have to endure a hard life in the palace at first, but an unexpected encounter at a temple before her entry won her the emperor’s favor: she was allowed to live alone in Fangfei Hall, showered with gifts, and even taken out of the palace regularly in an unprecedented exception...

It also won her the jealousy of the other consorts.

Cui Yunrou’s stance was simple: you can be jealous all you like, but don’t lay a hand on me. If you do, I’ll take you down

They tried to lay down the rules? She immediately disrupted their plans and unexpectedly helped the empress win a round.

They feigned concern? She saw right through them and unexpectedly turned their allies against them.

They framed her in public? She struck back and unexpectedly won the empress dowager’s favor.

Unable to deal with her, the consorts cried, “You’re spoiled by the emperor’s favor, arrogant and domineering. He’ll grow tired of you sooner or later!”

But when the Imperial Observatory declared that Cui Yunrou was a comet who would bring disaster to the country, the emperor didn’t even look up. “Utter nonsense. Drag them away and execute them.”
