The Snake King

[Alternate Universe + No Romance + Light Absurdism + Magic + Underage Characters + Inspired by Real Events] The mysterious, ancient, backward, and impoverished continent of Asuomanfu preserves the primitive, unadorned customs of Yuanwu Star. Everyone here is born with a single “spell,” and certain special spells can even be inherited through bloodlines. Twelve-year-old Lisi is about to enter middle school when a striking transfer student suddenly arrives in the graduating class. Before long, her peaceful school life is shrouded in strange and turbulent developments... Assassinations, monsters, the destruction of civilization, and the fated road home... Love is the cure for all suffering, and a poison that grows more intoxicating with every taste. The culture of advanced continents spreads here, while civilization and reason feast upon the wasteland’s last remains. The road to industry and technology leads toward a future gleaming emerald green on the far shore. In the eyes of higher beings, a weak civilization is no more than an ant crushed with a flick of the finger. Written to remember and to forget: a group of wonderful people and a time in our lives, lights that shone one after another along the river of our existence. May they live out their days in peace, free from illness, disaster, worry, and strife, in whatever worlds they may find themselves.
