The Cool-Hearted Monk Falls in Love with Me

I am a lotus growing in front of a Buddhist temple. Foyin is the cool-headed Buddhist novice with the deepest understanding of the Dharma among Master Liaoque's disciples.

One rainy day, afraid the raindrops would knock my petals off and leave me bald after I took human form, I swayed from side to side to dodge them. Foyin noticed me but did not tell anyone else at the temple. Instead, he used his Buddhist power to create a barrier to protect me. From then on, he chanted sutras for me every day to help me cultivate.

His master, Liaoque, discovered what was going on between us. Not only did Liaoque refrain from punishing us, he even urged Foyin to help me take human form as soon as possible.

Later, Foyin took me to the mortal realm to gain experience. I witnessed events involving the moth spirit and the ghost bride, among others, and no longer wanted to stay under Foyin's protection. Wanting to stand on my own, I went with Nian'an and the others to train in the Lost Forest. Meanwhile, Foyin followed his martial uncle Huijue's instructions and went to the Valley of Severed Affections to retrieve a spirit pearl. He overcame a series of obstacles and passed its bizarre trials, finally making his way into the valley and obtaining the pearl.
