Set in the Northern Song dynasty, this story follows Jin Yu Chenxing, the ancient god who rules the North Sea, and Nian An, the Holy Maiden of Tianshan. Their love between god and human produces a child, Jin Yu Kunyu. Because of his mixed heritage, the Emperor’s family refuses to accept him. With no other choice, the Holy Maiden places Kunyu in the care of the Zheng residence, the Duke of Zheng’s household in Qiaomu Town. Kunyu takes the name Shuangzhi, the duke’s daughter, and makes her life in the mortal world. Once grown, she meets Prince An, Zhao Jia. After enduring countless hardships together, they believe they can finally live happily as husband and wife. But then the Emperor’s family, with no heir to succeed him, has no choice but to summon Kunyu back to the palace to inherit the throne. Will Kunyu choose to rule as Emperor of the gods, or remain in the human world and cherish the joys of family life? No one knows.
