Time, Gently Dyed

Shi Jintang was rescued by Shen Shiran while fleeing from an arranged marriage.

A mishap led Jintang to slap Shiran without a moment's hesitation.

Shiran shouted angrily, “You jerk! I just kindly rescued you, and this is how you treat the person who saved your life?”

“That was my first kiss! How could you just steal it like that?” Jintang grew more and more aggrieved as she spoke.

Jintang added, “Forget it, forget it. I guess today just isn't my day. I got bitten by a mad dog.”

The second time they met was at an auction in Liucheng.

Zhuqing said in surprise, “Senior Brother, so Jintang is your sister-in-law!”

Shiran looked devastated and sighed. “I have to mourn for my big brother. No, this marriage absolutely cannot happen! How could a willful shrew like her become my sister-in-law?”

Zhuqing was a little puzzled by this and asked, “Senior Brother, Miss Shi isn't as awful as you make her sound, is she?”

Jintang gave a disdainful scoff and glared at Shiran. “Tch, it's you again, you sticky pest. Wherever I go, you follow! Fine, let's see who comes out on top!”

When Jintang was about to marry Nangui, Shiran abducted her in the middle of the night, and the two spent the night together.

“Now no one can disturb us. Just promise to break off your engagement to my big brother, and I'll let you go home.”

“What, do you like me?”

“Of course not. I just don't want you to ruin my big brother's life.”

“Fine, I promise I'll break off the engagement when I get back.”

“Really? A gentleman's word is his bond.”
