Basketball: I’m Teammates with Yao Ming!

[Player development + no CP pairing + one female lead + the female lead appears infrequently + high school to the NBA]

This is a player-development story. His stats won't get ridiculously high, and he'll work his way to the top after making it to the NBA. If that's not your thing, feel free to scroll on.

Lin He unexpectedly received a boost from a System, but the System was a bit of a pain. It made him do sign-ins, and the missions kept coming, some of them not even related to basketball.

What a lousy System!

Lin He grumbled as he stepped onto the court.

It had actually told him to find a fortune-teller and ask whether a lottery ticket would win.

Seriously, what did that have to do with basketball? It was outrageous!

After leading his high school team to a championship, Lin He was spotted by a talent scout and joined the CBA, where he won the 2002 CBA championship alongside Yao Ming.

After winning the title, Lin He set out on his NBA journey!

“He destroyed me at his tryout. It's not that I'm bad, he's just that good!” said second overall pick Jay Williams.

“Other than Allen Iverson, I can't think of a point guard better than Lin He!” Jason Kidd said glumly after the game.

“His vertical is on a historic level. He blocked my layup!” McGrady said in despair, his eyes narrowed.

“He's a nightmare for the entire league!” David Stern, the league's commissioner at the time, wrote on social media.

Twenty years later, a Chinese host asked Lin He how he would sum up his career. He said nothing, instead holding both hands up to the camera. They were covered in championship rings!
