The Next Day?

A little catboy in a maid outfit, tricked into wearing it by his sister, turns out to be unbelievably strong in a fight?

A relatively gentle series of furry-themed novels, it captures the characters' adorable charm while gradually revealing all sorts of problems in contemporary human society.

Xuanxing is a battered planet ruled jointly by humans and a humanoid beastfolk species called the Xuli.

Humans are the most irredeemable creatures in the world. They develop their society by sacrificing their companions and their living space. Though the two species are supposedly treated as equals, the Xuli have always been in a position of dependence on humanity.

In 5997 of the Common Era, the Congress officially named the various unknown man-killing species that had suddenly rampaged across Xuanxing “Hong.” Humans and Xuli alike paid a terrible price fighting them.

The protagonist, Baijia, is a catlike Xuli born during the brief period of peace after the war against Hong. To escape the inhumane evaluation of experimental results at the Kexin Research Institute, his scientist parents fled with the young and unsuspecting Baijia, painfully entrusting him to the Fuqing Inn in a remote mountain forest.

At last, the innocent little cat grew up. With no clues to guide him in his search for his parents, he and his team stumbled into a legendary journey by a twist of fate.
