"Smoke Locked in a Heavy Building" was completed in Keyuan, Taipei on August 10, 1994. It is a novel written for the filming of a TV series. The story takes place in Baisha Town, Anhui Province in the early Republic of China. According to Qiong Yao himself, the creative inspiration came from the Tangyue Archway Group in Anhui. The Zeng family's majestic seven-domain archway is famous far and wide, and is not only the glory of the entire Huizhou region. On the first day when Meng Han married into the Zeng family, one of the most dramatic, fancy and spectacular rituals was the bride paying homage to the memorial arch. On the big day, the whole town, young, old, women, children, and friends gathered together, and tens of thousands of people came to watch the fun.
